Human RightS Initiative (HRSI)

The Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) aims to assist students who want to pursue careers in the NGO sector, through workshops, courses and internships.

HRSI was founded in 1999 by students from the CEU Human Rights Program and is comprised of CEU students and alumni. Its target group includes CEU students and alumni, and local and regional NGO staff and activists. HRSI is supported by the Open Society Institute (OSI), the CEU Legal Studies Department and the CEU Rectorate, and works in close cooperation with the CEU Special Projects Office (SPO).

HRSI goals:

• To provide training and practical experience in human rights and related issues
• To raise awareness of human rights and to promote social responsibility
• To offer opportunities for networking among the local and regional community of human rights and NGO professionals
